Why stabilizers
PVC in 100 ~ 150 ºC, ultraviolet light, mechanical force, oxygen, ozone, hydrogen chloride and some active metal salts and metal oxides will accelerate the decomposition rate on the basis of its own decomposition.
For the processing of PVC, thermal decomposition of its properties do not change much, but it mainly affects the color of the finished product, which can be inhibited by adding heat stabilizers to inhibit the initial coloring of the product. In addition, if there is oxygen in the PVC thermal decomposition process, there will be the generation of colloidal carbon, peroxides, carbonyl and ester compounds.
Organotin is the most effective heat stabilizer and the most widely used class, its outstanding advantages are: superior thermal stability, good transparency, mostly non-toxic. Disadvantage is the high price (but small amount, generally only 0.5 ~ 2 PHR), another major disadvantage is that most of the non-lubricating properties.
Most of the organotin is liquid, only a few for the solid. Can be used alone, but also often used in conjunction with metal soap.
